The Tax Assessor is responsible for the listing and assessment of all properties within the municipality. The tax list is prepared each year and presented to the Bergen County Board of Taxation each January.
All appeals must be filed with the Bergen County Board of Taxation before April 1st of each year. Parcels with an assessment in excess of $1,000,000 may be filed directly with the New Jersey State Tax Court in Trenton. Appeals from added or omitted assessments must be submitted by December 1st to the Bergen County Board of Taxation. All applications pertaining to these deductions may be obtained directly from the Assessor’s Office or by clicking here. The Assessor’s office is open on a daily basis from 9 am to 4:30 pm, and the Assessor, Angela Mattiace, is available on Tuesdays from 12 pm to 4:30 pm, Thursdays from 1 pm to 4:30 pm, and Fridays from 9am-4:30 pm.
