The Allendale Shade Tree Commission removes, maintains, plants, and supervises Allendale’s public trees with the mission of preserving and enhancing the municipality’s urban forest environment. Aside from public parks and recreational areas, like the Celery Farm and Crestwood Park, the Commission has jurisdiction over planting easement on the Borough roads. The easement is either calculated as ten feet from the curb line or 25 feet from the center line of the road, whichever is more encompassing. Any tree work within this easement is the responsibility of the Commission.
The Commission is comprised of volunteers and welcomes new members who share a passion for gardening and enhancing Allendale’s aesthetic nature.
