Orange and Rockland Construction Update - 12/5

Today, ORU was able to complete the riser installations and restoration on Franklin Turnpike.

Tomorrow’s work will include the proofing of conduits and road restoration of the trench on W. Crescent.

Please anticipate work to take place 7:30 AM – 4PM. 1-Lane of traffic will be closed, with a detour.

Tomorrow’s work will include the complete riser install on N. Franklin Tpke (10 feet remaining). Expecting to work 7:30 AM – 4PM. 1-Lane of traffic closed, with Detour for traffic. ORU expects to concrete, encase, and plate the excavation(s) to allow for backfilling and restoration on Friday, 12/6.

As a follow-up to the letter mailed December 2, 2019 from Suez concerning the tetrachloroethylene levels at the New Street Treatment Plant;

- The original treatment equipment malfunction that caused the exceedance of Tetrachloroethylene was taken out of service for inspection 11/13

- The issue was identified, fixed, and the treatment equipment was placed back in service 11/25, with confirming water samples taken

- The water sample results confirmed the fix addressed the issue and Tetrachloroethylene concentration returned to below detectable levels

If residents have further concerns or questions, please call Suez Customer Service at 1-888-770-6030.

Allendale will also be holding a public meeting for water related topics on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.

“This Friday, 12/6/19 at 6 PM, W. Allendale Ave. at Demercurio Drive, as well as Myrtle Avenue at Pittis Avenue, a.k.a. the “downtown“ area will be closed to vehicular traffic for the annual Holiday Walk.

To those attending, the event starts at 6 PM, the tree lighting is 7 PM and Santa’s arrival on the fire truck is 7:30 PM.

Orange and Rockland Construction Update - 12/3

Tomorrow, 12/4 ORU will complete the rock removal in W. Crescent Rd (sidewalk) & complete the remaining 25 feet of ductbank installation. 1-Lane of traffic will be closed, with Detour using Ivers rd.

The contractor is expecting the work to take place 7:30 - 4.

Police Officers will be on scene to assist with detours and traffic flow.
